Avery Amigos

PURPOSE

Avery Amigos is a self-sufficiency program that strives to bridge the gap for the Latino community in Avery County.  Through individual case management, clients are given guidance to better assimilate into their new American lifestyle.  The program assists Hispanic women and families in securing employment, enrolling children in daycare and school, making health care appointments, applying for Department of Social Services and Health Department programs, obtaining immigration information, passports and birth certificates, interpretation and translation services, and transportation.  Avery Amigos also strives to maintain a monetary cushion to help families in need.
