nonprofit organization that strives to alleviate the causes
and effects of poverty through a grassroots approach
to helping people help themselves.
Mission: “to provide services, awareness, solutions, and
empowerment for individuals and families from disadvantaged circumstances in Watauga, Avery, Mitchell, and Yancey (W.A.M.Y.) counties.”
Vision: “W.A.M.Y. is a highly visible agency that is a leader in
creating collaborative solutions to problems facing our clientele.
Both our agency and our employees are self-sufficient.”
